Stretching over 9,800 kilometers is the one and only Mineral County, Nevada. That’s one of the homes of the gold mining company, “Great Western Mining.” This fascinating area holds within it part of a vastly miniral-rich area known to be the largest metallogenic belt in Nevada. It goes by the name “Walker Lane.” According to the sillitoe study of 2008, this section is responsible for the birth of well over 40 million ounces of gold.
Great Western Mining began in Ireland and now it includes operations on seven of its properties within Mineral County, Nevada on this plentiful land. All while embarking on new endeavors to expand in the search for these much sought after metals with new beginnings on an eighth property, “The Olympic Gold Project,” within the county. This project will be approximately 50 miles, West of the current sites.
As of May 12, 2021, a drilling update on the Olympic Gold Project was made by Great Western Mining. This concluded that after 15 days of drilling, they had managed to complete the formation of six holes. With 4,430 feet completed at a rate of just under 300 feet a day, they came out to be well ahead of schedule and under budget. With the addition of zero safety incidents during this session, this easily goes down as a feat for this gold mining company.
This Nevada company not only shares in the daily dealings of gold mining but also the mining of both silver and copper. This is no exception for the plans of 2022, with a drill program set for the start of early spring, when the ground is permissible work. There have been four drill targets already sought after for this season’s beginning, with 23 holes planned. There are no plans for slacking by this company. With announced results of high-grade gold intercepts from Trafalgar Hill (Olympic), you can bet they’ll be busy this season though.
